What’s new at The First Tee of Tampa Bay

Confident and College-Bound

Life has changed tremendously for Jahbril Simpson since joining The First Tee of Tampa Bay, a program branch of the Tampa YMCA. As a young teenager, Jahbril would walk about three miles to and from Rogers Park up to five days a week just so he could participate in The First Tee program.

National Awards

The First Tee of Tampa Bay recently had 5 of its participants selected for national opportunities. Selections were made by a national panel of judges based on essays the students wrote, involvement with the local chapter of The First Tee, coach recommendations, and community involvement. Research Validates

In a past independent research study of The First Tee, 73% of young people at participating chapters reported high confidence in their ability to do well academically and 52% credited the program fort their ability to appreciate diversity.
