2010 Buster Agliano GOLFish Tournament

Dear Friends of The Buster Agliano GOLFish Tournament,

In April 2004, the Tampa community lost one of its biggest fans, humanitarians and fish mongers, Sebastian “Buster” Agliano, owner of  S. Agliano & Sons Fish Company located in Ybor City.

One of Buster’s greatest passions in life was to give people, especially children, a chance to be the best that they could be often through sports. He loved sports and the opportunities sports afforded children. He believed when playing sports one learned honesty, discipline, fellowship, and most important, life’s lesson–how to learn to win and lose graciously.

In his honor, spirit, and love for golf, the Sebastian “Buster” Agliano Foundation has been established to raise money for The First Tee Tampa Bay (formerly Urban Jr. Golf). The First Tee of Tampa Bay’s mission is to impact the lives of young people and provide future opportunities by creating affordable and accessible golf experiences through a variety of programming and character building activities.

Like Buster, The First Tee believes that golf is more than a game – it teaches young people valuable lessons about life. Things like integrity, honesty, respect, goal setting, and discipline can all be learned playing this wonderful game. All of the funds raised from the Buster Agliano GOLFish Open will be used to expand The First Tee programs at Rogers Park Golf Course.

On April 3, 2010, we will hold the Fifth Annual Buster Agliano GOLFish Open at Rogers Park Golf Course located at 7911 30th Street North– Buster’s favorite golf course. What’s a Buster Agliano GOLFish Open? Playing golf and experiencing some of Buster’s other passions in life –good food, great people, and a lot of fun!

We are looking for sponsors to help us keep Buster’s passion alive. If you are interested in “fishing in”, please contact Roger Priede at 813-215-5982 or, e-mail at priede@msn.com.

We hope that you will join us for a golf experience you won’t forget!
